  • STUDENT REGISTRATION

    Some District schools are experiencing such high demand for space that they have closed boundaries.

    A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.

    John D Bracco School is at a "Level 2 - Closed Boundary School" which is now FULL IN ALL PLANNED CLASSES. Please call the school if you have any questions at 780-475-1760. 

    John D Bracco School is full in planned classes in Grades 7 to 9 in the regular program. We will now only accept resident students in Grades 7 to 9 whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) who have newly moved into the school’s attendance area with proof of residence. 

    New to the Division?

    If you are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can  register online or we can help you out in the school in person.

    **CONFIRMING NEW ONLINE REGISTRATION SUBMISSION**

    Once you have submitted your digital student registration form and included the supporting 4 - 7 documents, we will review all of the documents and reach out to you. This does not mean your child has been enrolled at the school—we will contact you to let you know if your child is enrolled.

    MOVED

    If you're child is currently attending John D Bracco and you would like to change your address. As Division regulations, we require three of the listed documents as proof of address verification by way of a current documentation: utility bills; home/tenant insurance; property tax or drivers license, and must be under the parents/legal guardian name.

    WHAT IS HAPPENING AT JDB

    Arc Cards 

    We are excited to announce that the ARC Card program is being introduced for our students at John D Bracco! What this means, is that for our ETS students, rather than having a paper bus pass, they will be given a plastic ARC Card that is reloadable every month!

    As we roll out this program, we would request that if you would like to purchase your child's bus pass online, please call Mrs. Morton, or email her at melissa.s.morton@epsb.ca, so that she may register the ARC card to your child's SchoolZone account, and then add the fee to their account.

    Student Drop Off and Parking

    With the new road construction and changes that have happened within the Hairsline community, please be mindful and respectful of those that live in the condominium across from the school. Please do not use this as a drop off or pick up as this is not a parking stall. We have been receiving a large amount of complaint of parents using this as a pick up and drop off. Please park in the spots provided. It is illegal and also dangerous to the sidewalk as a drop off for the students and the police are aware of this happening. 

    Please also reframe from using the round-about for parking which is slated for the Yellow buses that are picking up and dropping off our students. 

    Please also do not use the staff parking lot as a drop off-pick up as we have teachers arriving throughout the morning trying to park in their stalls.

     

    Taste of Bracco 

    Every school year we have the Taste of Bracco and we have a tremendous turnout. This is a display of our communities different cultures. Students can sample and showcase some food, art and all that our melting pot of cultures has to offer. Thank you to our families and community who proudly put themselves and taught us a small part of their cultures.

Here at John D Bracco School we strive to maintained a positive outlook and we believe that it is our staff and our relationships with students and parents that is our strength!

In the three years that our students spend with us, students will be preparing for high school and the programs that will determine their choices for further education. Our dedicated staff creates a safe and caring environment in which all students are challenged to learn and achieve their personal best.

I am proud to serve as Principal of J.D. Bracco and to be part of a school community with such a strong sense of pride, tradition, and connection to North Edmonton.

I believe great schools are built on strong relationships, high expectations, and a commitment to ensuring every student feels known, valued, supported, and challenged. At Bracco, our work is centred on creating a school where students experience belonging, engagement, and possibility every day.

We take great pride in providing programming and opportunities that meet the diverse interests, strengths, and needs of our students. Along with strong academic programming, J.D. Bracco offers opportunities such as our Academic Enrichment Program, Basketball and Soccer Institutes, English Language Learning, and Opportunity programming. We want every student to find a place where they can experience success, discover their strengths, and feel connected to their school.

I believe deeply in the potential of young people. We want our students to develop confidence, take on challenges, pursue their interests, and recognize the possibilities that exist for their future. Just as importantly, we want them to know that the adults in our building care about them and are committed to helping them succeed.

Strong partnerships with families are essential to this work. I value open and regular communication and want families to feel welcome, informed, and connected to our school community.
